RULES

Be Respectful. Disagreements happen, we're aware of that, but keep in mind that even when it does happen being respectful of your fellow players is always a must. We're here to have fun after all, right? We are also adults, though, and we expect you to behave as such. Discuss any issues that arise with other players as much as you can among yourselves to try and resolve potential problems, but never be afraid to bring in a mod should mediation be needed. Harassment, bullying or manipulation of players will NOT be tolerated and are absolutely bannable offenses within our game. Keep these things in mind!

Appable Characters Abaddonia will accept are the following: Canon characters, game protagonists included, from any set medium with an accessible English translation and/or Wiki/Wikia article. That includes video games, anime, books, light novels, comic books, web comics, movies, live action tv shows, MMOs and manga.

Original Characters, either from pre-established worlds such as table top games or MMOs, or from player created worlds. Fandom OCs will be accepted as well. Past-game histories, aka CRAU, with a short list of changes that have been made as a result of being in those previous games. Links are helpful, if the source is still available to link to!

Alternate Universe characters of current canon characters. Apps for AU characters need to be detailed and list what was different vs what remained the same for the character in question (though we absolutely do not require a novel - just enough to give a good idea of what's different).

Doubles from franchises that specifically have multiple versions of same-named characters (DmC/Devil May Cry, Legend of Zelda, comic reboots, etc) are allowed. Doubles in terms of one OU and one AU or differing points on a timeline for the same character are not allowed.

Hiatuses and Drops. Needing time away is perfectly understandable, especially if you only want to do so temporarily but return at a later time. Just make sure to let us know what is happening and how long you intend to be away. Just don't make a habit of abusing these systems. They are in place for YOUR benefit just as much as ours.

Character Limit. It is currently unlimited, but please be mindful of how much you can handle and consider your own limitations before trying to push yourself with more characters.

Permissions. While we do not require permissions posts from players, do keep in mind when apping that if your character has troubling subject matter, invasive abilities, speaking/text quirks that may be difficult for others to read or abilities that could be opted in to or out of a permissions post within your journal may be the way to go. "Fourthwalling", or confirming that another character is fictional within a set world, can also be something worth setting up permissions for, as not every player likes having to deal with the fallout of such a thing.

Infomodding/MetaGaming. Please, please be mindful of the OOC/IC information divide. Just because you as the mun know something oocly does not automatically mean your character would have this information icly. Information about others/about a plot should be gained naturally through gameplay and character interactions. Thoughts from character can only be read if your character has some sort of telepathic ability and only if the other mun has given you permission (usually through a permissions post) ahead of time. Infomodding and Metagaming abuse will be met with a verbal warning from the mods, and should further abuse continue, a ban from the game may occur.

18+ Content and Content/Trigger Warnings

Abaddonia is an 18+ game, and given the nature of the plot and setting things of adult nature will and do happen. That said, for the safety of our players we would request that NSFW topics such as sex and excessive gore as well as potentially upseetting topics like suicide, death ect be labeled as such in the subject bar of the thread. General violence and blood do not necessarily need to be marked but can be if the player feels the need to.

Dub-con/Non-con, if inteded to be played out, will need to be regulated to the journal of one of the respective players, however. The mod is not here to tell people how to RP or what they should or should not, but out of respect for the comfort of other players this is a scenario best left off the main communities.

When in Doubt, Ask.

And always, have fun!
